two thousand and ten

We made it guys! It’s the end of 2010! Here’s a quick summary of the last year….

*my coming of age

*the snow blizzard of DOOM a.k.a Snow-torius B.I.G

*the death of Sojourner Truth…my lemon… my first… my car (pours liquor as a symbol of libations)

*moved out of 127 Adams St….the party house lol

*grew closer to God. The closes I’ve ever felt to him

*had beautiful conversations

*learned that I can be spiteful but only to prove to myself that I can be

*grew closer to a lot of friends and then grew apart from them, only to grow closer to them

*realize that I have undoubting loyalty.

*cried for enlightenment

*composed three musical pieces that showed me that the cliché is true. You can better show your emotions and feelings through the arts.

*got in touch with my "roots"

*traded my relaxer for shea butter, cut off all my hair and never fell in love with a better decision.

*Began the end of my matriculation through college.

*had my feelings hurt on more than one occasion.

*hurt someone’s feelings on more than one occasion…and hated it.

*woke up on a basketball court in the most sketch part of NW DC.

*was introduced to liquid bereavement: four loko (or 16 loko in my case lol)

*allowed alcohol to lower my inhibitions on more than one occasion.

*enjoyed the best company from my female “bed mate” for 2 months

*Almost had a one night stand and was only stopped because of the lack of privacy

*realized that random sexual engagements should be as acceptable for women as it is for men, even though that’s not acceptable for me

*became a sex-positive feminist

*got dumped for the first time

* tried to be more responsible

*realized that I knew love and lost it

*realized with the help of Ms. Badu that I’m a recovering undercover over lover

*recovered from a complete mental breakdown

*ran away from the world to my personal haven with my sophomore sister

*quit my job only to return to them 2 months later

*filled the gaping hole he left in me with the love of my friends and family

*enjoyed a sober homecoming

*stayed out of contact with people because the gods of technology hated the idea of me having a reliable and constant phone source.

*mourned the loss of childhood and innocence

*witnessed the beginning of the end of my childhood, through the form of a movie.

*matured incredibly

*was entertained by internet "sensations" who should stay in 2010 (*cough*antondodson*cough*)

*was a part of history by joining the reclaiming the dream march

*witnessed to "regain" and "lost" of america's sanity

* wrote about life

* enjoyed helping my community

*realized that I wanted to help the greater community by going to Africa next summer.

*Realized that I am an artist and I want to do “epic shit”

*learned to forgive others and myself

*realized that success is a journey and not a destination

*realized that I regret nothing of the past year

*made a resolution for 2011; stop trying to put declarations on 2011 and let what is suppose to happen, happen

My Winter Wonderland

IT'S FINALLY OVER. The end of fall semester. Schools over as well as my job. Well atleast for a little while. I have a little less than a month to relax and catch up on everything that laid way-side as I struggled for top-notch grades and top-notch monies! I’m really looking forward to winter break. The opportunity to get back to meeee =D These things include and are not limited to the following:

*stay warm. no snow for me, Santa please!

*reading, reading and more reading!

*making fun recipes that I can enjoy while reading (like the raspberry smoothie pictured)

*lots of community service.

*searching for major related jobs and internships (hopefully paying ones)

*writing lots of blog posts about my random musings

*watch lots and lots of great movies and OF COURSE LOTS AND LOTS of episodes of PSYCH!

*dealing with this childhood issue that always seem to resurface (which is kinda weird since the only two people I’ve ever told about it is either dead or dead to me…wow, I have to laugh at how sad that sounded.)

*Mentally prepare myself for this new year (I’m getting excited!)

*spend lots of time with my family and friends from high school (since I haven’t the last 4 years..yelp!)

*finding lots of protective styles for this random length of kinks and coils sprouting from mi cabasa.

*be as healthy as I can be (eating well and exercising)…

*….that means lots of Just Dance 2 for wii!

*travel around a bit.

*playing /writing a lot more music for the fun of it and not because I have to.

*having an age appropriate New Year's Eve….one that will reflect that of the movie, The Hangover, and will not be memorable in the slightest.

*Ohhhhh and did I forget to mention that Kanye West has a video for “Monster” coming out soon? First of all I love this song (everyone knows that every time Nicki’s rap comes on I go INNN) but the preview for this video is SICK…and I mean “sick” in all meanings of the word. I am too excited to see the finshed video!

Do you think about me now and then?

This has been one of the fastest semesters ever! But it's also been one of the busiest. I've been neglecting the blog once again. But that will change starting next weekk when the semster is over and my sabbatical from work begins. I'm looking forward to December. A lot of great opportunities are sure to present themselves including a "business" trip to New York this weekend. I'm also looking forward to a lot of other traveling i'll be doing this coming month.

Since I'm on this "Me, Myself and I" hype (which is constantly on repeat) I realize that I don't do enough for myself. I think I sometimes forget that you can't put effort into loving anyone else if you don't love yourself first. So December I'll be tatking myself on "dates" and such. Besides; don't they always say that you are more likely to find someone if you aren't actually looking for someone? Well that's my mindset right now and it' actually makig me hella happy!

Annnnnnd on a completly different note, I've been thinking about this one person from my past a lot recently. It's kinda werid cause every time I use to hear his name my eyes would roll into the back of my head. Mostly with disgust and annoyance. But now I'm actually feeling very regretful about how things ended up. Ever felt that way about someone you're "suppose" to now hate?

Ok I'm done with that random moment of weakness. Especially since the feelings are most definitely not mutual. But moving on, here's a list of the things I love and love to hate currently:

LOVES:
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (Review coming soon!)
Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
MAC makeup (even tho it's expensive as hell!)
My Mom's Cornbread Stuffing
Adele's two new singles!
Nicki Minaj (Yup she's the bestest!)
Fall/Winter clothing
Netflicks
My Partna-n-crime, Ryan. and his Photography (#shoutouts to The Black Album)
Just Dance and Smooth Moves for wii
My Youtube subsciptions
white people

LOVE TO HATE:
The possibilty of snow
Howard University's administration
Four Loko (it speaks for its self)
This damn Nokia
Lea from The Bad Girls Club (I swear I loved her the beginning of the season)
Housewives of (fill in the blank...they all annoy me)
NOT being apart of my Partna-n-crime, Ryan's photography and life!
This season of Glee (im kinda dissapointed)
The price of the metro
Coldplay and Amy Winehouse being M.I.A on this new album game
white people (its on a day to day basis lol)
